Ephesians 6:10-11
To rise up against the evil that is in this world and to stand strong. What evil? You say, “Peace, peace,” when there is no peace.
“They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.” — Jeremiah 6:14
AWAKE, OH SLEEPER! For you have been asleep and partying, while there are great evils in this world: abortion, homosexuality, feminism, the destruction of the family, and every other thing that seeks to drag us down. But we have a weapon stronger than any two-edged sword, one that destroys every lofty argument and evil.
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” — Hebrews 4:12
But are we going to use it? Are we going to let culture tell us it is only a book made by men? NO.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16
Are we not going to read it because we are too busy with video games, toys, parties, and other shallow things? NO. God calls us to put those things away.
“When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.” — 1 Corinthians 13:11
He calls us to seek glory, honor, and battle. We are in a war, and we are on the front lines.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” — Ephesians 6:12
God has given us a weapon greater than any man-made object or scheme of the devil: the Gospel.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” — Romans 1:16
So this is what God charges us to do: repent and spread the Gospel.
“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” — Matthew 28:18-20
I will leave you with this: Will you give up everything to be a servant of Christ Jesus, or will you walk in darkness?
